Sinquerim Beach – Goa’s 5 Star Beach
Positioned at a distance of only 05kms from Lulus Guest Corner (house), the Sinquerim beach is astonishingly beautiful, quieter as compared to other beaches of Goa and one of the oldest, carefully preserved beaches in Goa. The beach is famous for its long, tranquil sandy terrain stretching up to Candolim beach and continues till north Baga is ideal for strolling and for swimming as the sea is calmer here. Sinquerim beach offers great water sports facilities and one can indulge in aqua sports like scuba diving, fishing, water skiing or beach volley. Saturday Nite Market at Arpora
Saturday Nite Market at Arpora is a not to be missed night activity while in Goa between the months of November till April. The market has hundreds of stalls, with all kinds of accessories and is pulsating with music and food. You'll see the most eccentric sights and some interesting people from all parts of the world walking along with a drink in one hand and a shopping list in the other! Candolim Beach – Saying bye bye to River Princes Ship
The excellent beach of North Goa is sandwiched between Sinquerim beach on the left and the world famous Calangute beach on its right. Is almost difficult to say where Candolim beach begins and where it ends. So you can walk on and on over the golden sands with the beach not ending over here. This beach has got infamous for the grounded River Princess ship which has been lying ignored for the past 10 years. Saligao Church – Ancient Gothic Church of Goa.
This magnificent church of interest to tourists is located in the neighboring village of Saligao, touching to Porvorim village where Lulus Guest Corner (house) is situated. Constructed from the remnants of the convent of Mae de Deus (Mother of God) at Old Goa, and retaining a Gothic structure, the Mae De Deus church or Saligao Church is one of the oldest churches in North Goa. A soaring edifice all painted in pearly white, this church was built in 1873 as a shrine in true Greek architectural style. The exterior edifice looks spectacular with a gong in the center at the top of the church, large jutting cones all around the building and a statue of the Mother of God in the center. Inside the church you will find large wooden pews, low chandeliers and a central aisle which leads to the main altar. On the right hand side is the community center which organizes events for the fun loving local people of Saligao. This ancient Gothic church of Saligao is very close to the village of Porvorim. Baga Beach – On the beach besides the Baga River.
Baga Beach and Baga village is an extension of the coastal village of Calangute in the state of Goa, India. Baga comes under the jurisdiction of Calangute, which is 2 km south. Baga is known for its popular beach, Baga Beach with is brown sands, and creek, the Baga Creek which has the river of Baga flowing into it. It is visited by thousands of tourists annually. O’ Coquerio Restaurant
The criminal Charles Sobhraj, who was caught on April 6, 1986 in the O'Coqueiro Restaurant in Goa after a dramatic escape from the Tihar Jail, had chosen to hide in the tourist paradise in the hope of getting lost in the international crowd but his luck ran out a month later. A stone statue of Sobhraj at the O'Coqueiro is a constant reminder of the incident. The statue is placed on the table on which he was caught, frozen in time, complete with a menu card in hand. It's an installation that's been generating a lot of interest. This restaurant long before Charles Sobhraj was caught was more famous for its Goan and Portuguese cuisine and food delicacies. Aguada Fort & Lighthouse
Fort Aguada and its lighthouse is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort standing in Goa, India, on Sinquerim beach, overlooking the vast expanses of Arabian Sea. The fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming from Europe at that time.
